Mar 29, 2023

The aerospace market has rocketed to the top of the list for growth opportunities in manufacturing, but it鈥檚 going to require adoption of state-of-the-art technologies. Aerospace experts will share their perspectives on the transformation of manufacturing technology for space exploration at , April 26-28 in Phoenix, Arizona, at the .

Powered by鈥AMT 鈥 The Association For Manufacturing 都灵体育直播鈥and in partnership with the鈥,鈥疢FG 2023 is the preeminent industry event of the year for leaders in manufacturing to connect with each other and gather intelligence on the pulse of the industry. Attend:

  • Headline sessions on aerospace technology, demographics, public policy, and economics

  • Focused workshops on supply chain, cybersecurity, and brand building

  • Networking events, a championship golf course, an equestrian center, and more.

MFG Meeting is a Competitive Advantage

鈥淲hat I learn about the industry at MFG is a part of how we plan for the future,鈥 says , vice president 鈥 strategic marketing at . 鈥淚 gather market input to turn into feedback for our engineers as they design the next generation of products. The content and the presentations at MFG really help me gather the kind of information that I can pass on to our teams at headquarters.鈥

鈥淭here are many benefits to the MFG meeting, but first and foremost, it鈥檚 about networking in-person with industry partners,鈥 says , director of marketing at . 鈥淎lso, I highly value the information provided by the speakers, particularly those covering economics and industry forecasts, as well as technology trends.鈥

Aerospace 鈥 Out-of-this-World Opportunities

At MFG 2023, leaders in aerospace will share their perspectives on the latest technologies most important to drive manufacturing today and how to compete in the long term.

, CEO at , will present 鈥淢aterials, Methods, and the People Manufacturing Humanity's Future in Space and Below.鈥 He鈥檒l address how advances in materials and manufacturing methods will be essential for space exploration.

鈥淢anufacturing as we know it today will not exist in the coming decades,鈥 Ahrstrom says. 鈥淲e can鈥檛 rely on our earth-based thinking for systems maintenance on the space station. Manufacturers need to think now about how to take advantage of future opportunities in aerospace and space.鈥

Ahrstrom will discuss why manufacturers will need to invest in additive manufacturing, multi-purpose machines, and new materials to address the challenges of sending manufacturing equipment to space. As an example, Ahrstrom will share Ingersoll鈥檚 experience with additive manufacturing for a, which was featured at IMTS 2022.   In a Fireside Chat titled 鈥淔actory of the Future and the Importance of the Supplier Base,鈥

, chief technology officer at AMT, and Nick Bullen, chief engineer for advanced manufacturing technology at , will discuss the importance of technical partnerships to advance manufacturing in the aerospace market.

As an aerospace OEM, Bullen will share his own experience in developing key supplier partnerships in which technology has improved manufacturing for all parties involved.

鈥淚n our data collection initiatives, we are mining data from beyond our supply chain to optimize our visibility and predictive analytics with everyone that may affect timely deliveries,鈥 Bullen says. 鈥淭hat means we need our suppliers to provide real-time data on the progress of our orders so we can keep our own production lines moving on schedule.鈥

Shinbara will provide examples of real-life industry partnerships and advancements in manufacturing technology that are supporting aerospace.  Focused Workshops  Group workshops offer deeper discussions, engagement, and more customized attention to challenges. The 2023 MFG Meeting offers a choice of three:
